    Juan Mah y Busch, Ph.D.
Professor and Chair of Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies
LMU Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts

Juan D. Mah y Busch researches and writes about the interplay between awareness and agency. With a specialization in literary and cultural studies – especially their postcolonial, feminist and marxist strands – and formal training in meditation, his writings and courses explore the relationship among power, awareness, and lived experience. His current research pursues two related strands. Through critical ethical theory, aisthesis, and the study of literature, he writes about the role of aesthetic agency for an ethics of survival and life. In The Journal of Contemplative Inquiry, he also has published on the interaction between critical and contemplative pedagogies.
